Research Overview

Our group aims to develop scalable, efficient, and selective energy conversion and storage technologies. Application of our work includes next-generation battery chemistries and thermal and electrochemical heterogeneous catalytic systems. We formulate innovative design principles to overcome parasitic side reactions and thermodynamic losses to enable these technologies. We utilize a combination of first-principles-based atomic modeling, data-driven analysis, and graph-theory-based representations.

Research Interests

  • Atomic modeling at complex solid-liquid and solid-gas interfaces
  • Data-driven methods: machine learning and algorithm development for data-mining and interpretation
  • Heterogeneous catalysis, electrocatalysis, batteries

Courses Offered (subject to change)

  •  Statistical Thermodynamics

Honors

  • Future Faculty Award, 2021, Purdue University
